Ssshhh.  Don’t tell the hubs – I’m not supposed to work on Sundays but I couldn’t help but share a few recent photos.

I guess I’ve not really shared a whole lot of images of the new space. Slowly, but surely, it’s become the space I’d envisioned when I first moved in. It’s almost like a marriage or moving in with someone new… there’s an adjustment period and there for awhile I was a bit overwhelmed. The old studio had 11 foot ceilings, the new one has 12′ – so window treatments were too short and this space is considerably smaller so I had to scale back on the props I had become so accustomed to at the old space. Finally, the adjustment period feels like its at an end and the studio now feels like ‘home’ … Here are just a few :)

  Every day I get more and more inquiries regarding sessions for the upcoming holiday season. Giving the gift of yourself requires a bit of forethought, planning and time. Deadlines are listed below: For albums and image boxes, please schedule your session prior to December 1st to avoid any rush fees. Albums are available for sessions through the 10th of December however a rush fee of 30% is applied. Digital collections can be scheduled through December 15th. Sessions are scheduled Monday through Friday and select Saturdays. Saturdays tend to book up several weeks in advance.

Sometimes intimate photography is more about about attitude and emotion than it is garters and stockings.

I’ve had the rough cuts of this for a few weeks… it’s been TOUGH keeping it under wraps.  I have to share how this came about and if you’ve read even a few posts on this crazy blog-o-mine you’ll already know that I’m NOT a big fan of writing.  ((truth be told, a pap smear brings me less anxiety than a blog post))  Too much info?  *nervous grin*

Back on track – I don’t enjoy blogging.. it feels so… salesman-y.. but without blogging, how else does my potential client get to know me.. the me that I am, the me that she has to trust that I will do her justice in a semi-nude state of dress?  Believe me when I say that I KNOW the anxiety that comes with this whole process.  Ugh…. if the results weren’t so awesome, I’d prefer yet another pap smear.  I needed to show that I don’t bite, the process isn’t painful and maybe, just maybe – it could be fun….

Enter Maura Coleman of Creative Films.  Holy smokes this girl is on-fire with talent.   Maura came recommended to me several months back by a birth photographer and for a week or two I’ll admit – I facebook stalked her.  ((I promise it’s not nearly as creepy as it may sound))  Finally, when I decided that she’s THE ONE, I asked ((it felt as though I were proposing marriage, anxious, almost waiting to be rejected))  we chatted, we chatted some more and then we met.  Truly, it was love at first coffee date!  I yapped, she listened (bless her, because I’m a talker and she’s a busy lady)  I knew what I wanted to accomplish – ((to get out of writing that darn ‘about me’ page))  and like magic – she pulled it off.  She’s amazing.  Truly.

This morning I woke up to a wonderful review. There it was, sitting patiently in my inbox waiting to make my day. Reviews are something I look forward to receiving. The replies matter to me a great deal and I practically beg for honest feedback. Brutally honest. Please!!! I feel that honest client feedback is essential to the growth of my company and can only better the service I provide.

My thoughts often veer off topic, so I’ll rein them back in .. /customer service soapbox.

I am blessed. My clients are doctors, lawyers, teachers, homemakers. Recently divorced, celebrating 30 year anniversaries. I have shot enlisted military and those that serve through their spouses’ enlistment. Each client is unique. Each client beautiful, each intelligent and some wickedly hilarious…. veering again…

My point is this … I am grateful. Grateful for the thoughtful feedback, the kind words and the opportunity to have met and known each of my clients.. this one nearly made me cry this morning… I’m sharing not as to boast, but I’m sharing this as my own little personal victory. As my own ‘mission accomplished’
